Chrome extension was created to blur out Facebook statuses, pictures and postings that may contain Avengers: Endgame spoilers

How frustrating can it be when you are scrolling through your Facebook feed only to find or ‘accidentally’ watch a spoiler to one of the most anticipated movies? That sort of frustration was what motivated a young Malaysian to create a Google Chrome extension to blur out Facebook statuses, pictures and postings that may contain potential spoilers from the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame. The creator of this extension, Ng Khai Yong, Head of Growth in Keyword Tool, posted the extension on his Facebook account on the night of April 17.

“There are two ways to enjoy Avengers without seeing spoilers on Facebook. Unfriend everyone who bought tickets on the first day, (or) download this free Chrome Extension, which blocks all Avengers spoilers,”

However, the extension is only made available for Chrome desktop computers. Avengers: Endgame, opened in cinemas on April 24 and many have scrambled to purchase tickets for the movie when advance ticket sales were made available on April 2, with some who made an attempt to resell tickets at the price of RM700 each.

The movie, which is a continuation to the Marvel 2018’s movie Avengers: Infinity War, is set to open in cinemas on April 24. It stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Brie Larson.

Many fans have been waiting for the sequel this year, with plenty of predictions and theories pertaining to the movie. Fans tend to be anxious to be the first to tell about the movie, hence the directors posted a signed letter to fans on social media, requesting those who have watched the movie not to spoil it for others.

Wow. Talk about intense. A lot of people have vowed to stay off social media platforms hoping to not spoil their perception before they go and watch the movie. Applause to you people who have the discipline to not touch that social media icon on your phones.
